MINUTES OF THE YC-AFT LOCAL 4952 EXECUTIVE BOARD,
May 13, 2006
I. The meeting of the executive board of Yuba College-American Federation of Teachers, Local 4952 was called to order by Vice President Dave Althausen at 12:02 pm in Clearlake, CA. Also present were: Jay Batchelder, Doug Harris, Heidi Walker, Tom Marquette, and Jeff Freitas from CFT.
II. Minutes of YCAFT meetings held 4/22/06 in Marysville, CA were amended to show that Jay Batchelder was in attendance, and "Jim Freitas" was changed to "Jeff Freitas" under New Business. Minutes were approved as amended.
III. AB 3076 Jeff will research and let us know the substance of this legislation.
IV. Fall 2006 Marysville teaching assignment for an adjunct instructor was corrected by contacting Dean Davis.
V. YCAFT Constitution/By Laws revisions discussed and will go to CFT attorney for review/opinion. Revisions will be considered next meeting.
VI. Jeff presented draft letter clarifying authority to review district personnel files for legitimate business purposes such as verifying membership.
VII. Dave pointed out that newsletter mistakes in February have been corrected in the May 2006 newsletter.
VIII. Dave alerted the committee to a Woodland adjunct who is being terminated for failure to submit necessary paperwork for sick leave and other issues. He has not asked YCAFT for assistance.
IX. Meeting adjourned at 1:06 pm
